Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has conveyed his appreciation for the backing he received from his fellow members in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) during the political unrest in his state.

In a post on social media, Fubara expressed his gratitude for the constructive and fruitful PDP Governors’ Forum meeting held in Enugu on Wednesday. He emphasized that the gathering centered on delivering tangible benefits of democracy to the citizens, making it a positive and rewarding experience.

He stated, “As part of efforts to network and cross fertilize ideas on governance, I joined my brother governors under the PDP Governors’ Forum in a meeting at Enugu on Wednesday where a number of national and party related issues were extensively discussed.

“It was positive and quite rewarding as we truly engaged in very important discussions that could help us get more focused in delivering the dividends of democracy to our people.”

According to reports, the governors released a statement expressing their endorsement of Fubara and committing to conducting extensive consultations to find a peaceful solution to the crisis.

The PDP Governors’ Forum, under the leadership of Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, made this declaration.

Fubara has been experiencing disagreements with his political mentor, Nyesom Wike, who currently serves as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
