He rose to fame in 2011 when he signed with Machine Entertainment Group.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION

Growing up in Chicago, Illinois, G Herbo (also known as Lil Herb) decided to leave high school at the age of 16 in order to pursue a career in music.

His musical influences include Meek Mill, Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Yo Gotti, and Lil Wayne.

During his early career, he formed a close friendship with rapper Lil Bibby and they collaborated on various projects together.

G Herbo is affiliated with the group N.L.M.B., which was initially created by merging No Limit and the Muskegon Boyz. However, N.L.M.B.

represents a brotherhood rather than a gang, as it stands for “Never Leave My Brothers.”

CAREER

G Herbo and Lil Bibby gained significant recognition with their popular song “Kill Shit,” which has been viewed over 50 million times on YouTube.

Their talent caught the attention of renowned rapper Drake, who referred to them as “the future” within the hip-hop community.

In February 2014, G Herbo released his debut mixtape titled “Welcome to Fazoland,” which serves as a tribute to a friend who lost his life due to gun violence in Chicago.

This mixtape was highly acclaimed by critics, with Fader praising G Herbo’s distinct lyrical style.

He also collaborated with Nicki Minaj on the song “Chiraq” in April 2014 and worked alongside Common on “The Neighborhood.”

G Herbo was selected to be part of XXL’s 2014 Freshman Class issue and he recorded the “Fight or Flight (Remix)” with Chance the Rapper and Common.

G Herbo gained recognition in 2015 when he released his mixtape Pistol P Project and was featured on Chief Keef’s “Faneto (Remix).”

Although he didn’t make it onto the XXL Freshman Cover, his single “XXL” received high praise from critics.

That same year, he dropped Ballin Like I’m Kobe as a tribute to his late friend and signed with Cinematic Music Group under the name G Herbo, which marked a new chapter in his career.

This led to the successful release of the mixtape, and he also collaborated with Joey Badass on “Lord Knows.”

In 2016, G Herbo announced his debut album Humble Beast and released singles like “Pull Up,” “Drop,” “Yeah I Know,” and “Ain’t Nothing to Me.”

He worked with DJ Twin, Sean Kingston, and Lil Bibby on “They Know Us” and hinted at a mixtape called Strictly 4 My Fans.

Before dropping Humble Beast in September 2017, he released Welcome To Fazoland 1.5 and three more singles. A deluxe version of the album was released in 2018.

In 2018, G Herbo’s freestyle on K104 radio led to the release of the “Who Run It” remix featuring Lil Uzi Vert and the single “Shook.”

He later released the deluxe edition of his album Humble Beast and dropped the album Swervo, which included collaborations with artists like 21 Savage and Chief Keef.

The following year, he released the album Still Swervin, and in 2020, he released PTSD, which reached number 7 on the Billboard 200.

He collaborated with King Von on various projects and in 2021, he worked with Lil Bibby on their joint project called “No Limitations.”

His fourth studio album, titled “25,” was released in 2022, and he also made appearances in King Von’s “Grandson” and MudBaby Ru’s “Gun Class II” in 2023.

PERSONAL LIFE

In 2018, Wright became a father to a son with his then-girlfriend Ariana Fletcher.

He got engaged to Taina Williams, who is the stepdaughter of rapper Fabolous, in December 2020.

They welcomed a baby boy together on May 27, 2021.

In 2019, Wright pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of unlawful weapon use and received a two-year probation sentence.
