Nigerian National Grid has experienced another collapse making it the ninth time of failure. It also marks the fourth time this month that it is failing.
On Tuesday around 10:08PM, the grid’s power generation fell to 2,037.2 megawatts.
Sapele and Rivers IPP reported that there is no power output which contributed to power outage.
Reports have it that some states except Niger and Kwara have experienced total power outage and they had no light throughout. They include: Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa, Gombe, and Katsina.
The total power outage also affected Sokoto, Zamfara, Bauchi, Yobe, Borno, Adamawa, Taraba, Niger, Plateau, Nasarawa, Kogi, and Benue.
The power outage affecting the northern states was triggered by vandalism that damaged Shiroro-Kaduna transmission line, which is the main power supply line to the north.
