Heirs Holdings convenes directors’ summit

Heirs Holdings recently brought together over 100 board members from its various investee companies at the HH Group Directors’ Annual Summit. Held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja from June 13 to 16, 2024, the summit featured board members from sectors in which HH invests, including healthcare, power, energy, technology, financial services, hospitality, and real estate.

Trustees from the Tony Elumelu Foundation, the Group’s philanthropic arm that supports young entrepreneurs across Africa, also attended the event. The summit focused on reinforcing strong governance practices, identifying opportunities for innovation and impact, and celebrating business achievements.

During the summit, Group Chairman Tony Elumelu highlighted Heirs Holdings’ commitment to “build to last” and “build for impact.” He stated, “Over the past decade, we have ingrained strong corporate governance practices into our businesses. We invest strategically and patiently for the long term. These commitments are essential to our success as we redefine success across all sectors we operate in and fulfill our purpose to improve lives and transform Africa.”

The summit concluded with a closing ceremony and dinner attended by prominent figures from Nigeria’s public and private sectors, including Vice President Sen. Kashim Shettima, ministers, ambassadors, policymakers, and civil society leaders. In his remarks at the closing ceremony, Vice President Shettima said, “When the history of Nigeria and Africa’s banking revolution is written, one name will stand out – Heirs Holdings, for carving a niche in banking and entrepreneurship in Africa.”
