‘I am not 40 yet’– Toke Makinwa

Date:

Toke Makinwa, a famous media personality and actress in Nollywood, has responded to a user who mistakenly increased her age.

On her Twitter page, she had posted stunning photos of herself, and a user had complimented her for looking attractive in her 40s.

“This aunty na 40+ looking this hot. Okay”.

In response to him, Toke Makinwa asked who was claiming that she was in her 40s, as she clarified that she hadn’t reached the age of 40 yet.

Nevertheless, she assured the person on Twitter that when she does turn 40, she will be even more attractive.

“You and who is 40 plus?? I am not 40 yet oo. Calm down; I’ll enter into 40 hotter”.

As anticipated, her surprising disclosure sparked responses, with numerous individuals slamming her for falsifying her age.

Opey Opey200 commented, “Lori iro. Why my gender dey like lie about their age? U should be proud”.

One, Flower4228 commented, “She is over 40″.

Another person, Amy Berry83 commented, “See how fast she debunked it. Why are people so scared of ageing but still want to live long? I don’t gerrit”.

And, Ijeoma Iduh commented, “Why are they always afraid to be 40 and above? Upon all the enhancement surgeries. We wey come be 59 nko?”.

Toke Makinwa is not the only one facing criticism from internet users about her age.

Uche Ogbodo also had a confrontation with a troll on her birthday, who pointed out that people born in 1986 would be turning 38 years old.

The troll questioned Uche’s honesty about her age to her boyfriend, which angered Uche and led her to respond harshly.

Similarly, Nkechi Blessing faced accusations of lying about her age while celebrating her 35th birthday in February.

She lashed out at those accusing her and told them to continue being bothered by her age, while she blast them for not progressing in life.

Last year, Mercy Eke, the winner of Big Brother Naija, received backlash after her real age was revealed.

Her sister, Sweery Eke, defended her by sharing a screenshot of Mercy’s birth certificate.

Sweery said that even in 2050, people would still be talking about her sister’s success and age.

She also highlighted that the only issue people had with Mercy was the level of access she had achieved at the age of 30.

In a similar vein, actress Caroline Danjuma faced severe online criticism last year when she claimed to be turning 35, which many found hard to believe.

In response, Caroline shared photos of her mother, who she claimed was in her 50s, and questioned how she could be in her 40s. She also had a message for those who asked her for her certificates.
