“I do not support attacks on party leaders” – Senator Kalu warns

Date:

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, who represents Abia North Senatorial District, has distanced himself from controversial remarks reportedly made by Chief Okey Ezeala, the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State.

In a message on August 25, Kalu, a former governor of the southeastern state, warned Ezeala to separate his personal views from those of the party.

Through a statement from his media office signed by George Maduka in Abuja, Kalu clarified that Ezeala lacks the authority to speak on his behalf and should avoid using his name to endorse opinions that could cause division.

Part of the statement read, “Okey Ezeala does not work in the Senate Office of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu. He does not speak for the Senator and cannot express opinions that contradict those of the distinguished senator. ”

Kalu emphasized his dedication to promoting harmony within the APC, stating that he does not endorse the divisive language or criticisms of party leaders linked to Ezeala.

He restated his commitment to building up the APC for prosperity in Abia State and advised Ezeala to discuss matters with party officials, especially the state party chairman, Dr. Kingsley Ononugbo, before speaking publicly.

The senator ended by saying that any statements that do not encourage peace and togetherness within the party should be ignored as they do not represent his beliefs or who he is.
