Wizkid continues to fuel his public feud with Davido, this time involving global sports brand Puma in the controversy.
On Twitter, Wizkid claimed he rejected a deal with Puma due to insufficient payment, boasting that his value exceeds their offer, and assertively declared himself the largest artist, superior to his peers, while professing love and no envy towards fellow artists.
Wizkid claimed Puma’s African budget was insufficient for him, implying it was more suited for Davido, in a thinly veiled jab at his rival.
“U idiot! I turned down Puma cos they could no longer afford to pay me cos I wanted more! Don’t need dat! Way bigger than every artiste u just mentioned! Not jealous! love em all…With ur dirty ass shirt! Idiot!
No! Puma is a Big brand! But the budget they had for Africa wasn’t for me! Was cool for your client tho!”.
Recall that, In December 2021, PUMA welcomed Davido as its newest ambassador, publicly announcing the partnership on their social media channels.
Wizkid has been publicly criticizing Davido, calling him “Frigodo” and questioning his talent, while denying any rivalry and asserting his own superiority, coinciding with the promotion of his upcoming music releases.
In a different update, Wizkid responded to a fan’s concern about Davido’s feelings, saying that Davido’s well-being wouldn’t be his priority.
