The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has expressed his condolences to the Kano State Police Command, as well as the families and acquaintances of the five policemen who tragically lost their lives in a horrific motor accident.
The unfortunate incident occurred on Tuesday at Karfi village in Kura Local Government Area of Kano State, along the Zaria-Kano Expressway.
These officers were returning to Kano after fulfilling their duties in the Edo State elections. The loss of these officers is deeply mourned, and their sacrifice in the line of duty is a poignant reminder of the risks law enforcement officials face each day.
In a statement released by the Force Spokesman ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi on Wednesday evening, IGP Egbetokun offered prayers for the repose of the departed souls.
The Edo State governorship off-cycle election occurred on Saturday, September 21st, 2024.
