‘It was beyond what I could take’– Toyin Abraham replies X user

Date:

Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi, a popular actress in the Nigerian film industry, Nollywood, has addressed a user on the micro-blogging platform, X, who accused her of detaining his mother.

The user alleged that the actress had taken his mother captive and urged her to bring in more police to apprehend all those involved.

“Hello @toyin_abraham1, you will have to send the police to pick all of us. You are very shameless”.

In response to him, Toyin expressed that she is fine with him insulting and calling her names, but she has a limit when it comes to people cursing her children and spreading lies.

She made it clear that she did not have his mother arrested, but simply reported a cybercrime incident as a concerned citizen.

“You can abuse and call me names; it’s fine, and as I said, I will accept and take it cos I’m in the public eyes, but cursing kids and lying is what I won’t accept, and lastly, I never and will never arrest anyone’s mother. I made a report on cybercrime as a citizen.
I made my report at cybercrime cos the threat to life and curse and threat on my family were beyond what I can take, as for me, abuse me, insult me please, say anything to me please”.

The Twitter user also shared that the actress went to her mother’s shop at Panti police station and prayed for divine judgement.

“It’s one thing to make a tweet, and you arrest me. It’s another thing to arrest me for not even making a single comment, @toyin_abraham1. You picked my mom up from her shop to Panti police station for something I didn’t even do. God will judge you”.

Toyin answered, “Lying in my head comfortably now, the world won’t see this if I react how, they will say something else. I never arrested your mum. Your friend Ayo was arrested for bullying and cursing and defaming my family, and mum went there saying she won’t leave without him”.

Uchenna, another user on Twitter, asked why the famous actor had deleted certain tweets. In response, the actor clarified that he had already provided an explanation to her, so there was no need to avoid the topic.

“I just deleted it cos he has explained to me, and there is no need to beat around the bus, so what’s the big deal?”.

Naija traffic recently reported that Toyin had taken legal action against an individual who had made death threats towards her son on social media.

A source named Reedah, who is close to the person involved, informed his mother that he had been arrested by the police from Lagos for cyberbullying Toyin Abraham.

It should be noted that Toyin had openly expressed her support for Tinubu’s administration during and after the election, which resulted in her facing severe criticism.

In an interview, Toyin expressed her distress over the online bullying, stating that she had never experienced such intense trolling before.

She stated that people even went as far as petitioning her sponsors and urging Netflix to remove her movies.

Toyin revealed that she felt intimidated, bullied, insulted, and cursed simply because of her support for the now President-elect.
