Folajimi Akinsola, the youngest of three siblings, hails from Surulere in Lagos State.

His educational path began at Nazareth Nursery and Primary School in Lagos, followed by secondary education at Igbobi College Yaba.

He furthered his studies by earning diplomas in Data Processing and Mathematics from Olabisi Onabanjo University and the University of Lagos.

He then pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Lagos State University to broaden his academic horizons.

CAREER

Folajimi’s foray into the entertainment industry started early; he made his television debut at the age of seven on a football show segment.

However, it was in 2003 that he officially embarked on his career as a sports presenter, joining The Best of Football and Lucozade Boost Sports Reel under the guidance of Godwin Dudu Orumen.

In 2009, he became part of Megalectrics Limited, the parent company of well-known radio stations like The Beat 99.9FM and Classic FM 97.3.

There, he took on the position of Head of Sports for all three stations, demonstrating his expertise and enthusiasm for sports broadcasting.

Throughout his career, Folajimi has reported on major events, including the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, where he earned the title of Best Sports Radio Presenter.

He also hosted Industry Nite, a popular music showcase featuring renowned artists like Dbanj, Wizkid, and Tiwa Savage.

As he transitioned to television, Folajimi took on the role of host for Africa Magic’s Football Legends and later became the lead anchor for Kwesé Sports on Kwesé TV Channel.

In 2019, he made his SuperSport TV debut as the host of The Kings Of Football Show presented by Budweiser.

Folajimi has also ventured into acting, appearing in films such as When Love Happens and Twin Flames.

He notably starred in the Prime Video Original series Ebuka Turns Up Africa in 2024, a reality show featuring industry veterans like Ebuka Obi-Uchendu alongside emerging talents such as Zubby Michael and Timini Egbuson.

In November 2022, Jimmie Akinsola and Kanayo Ebi celebrated their love in a touching wedding ceremony.

Their marriage has been blessed with the birth of their son, Kanyechi Folajimi Ernest Akinsola, who brings immense joy and light to their lives.
