Jon Venables, was born on August 13, 1982, in England, gained notoriety for his involvement in the murder of James Bulger in 1993.

When Venables and Robert Thompson were both ten years old, they kidnapped and killed two-year-old Bulger in Liverpool.

This case shocked the United Kingdom and the rest of the world because of the young age of the perpetrators and the extreme violence of the crime.

Both Venables and Thompson were tried and found guilty of murder, making them the youngest individuals to be convicted of murder in modern British history.

They were given an indeterminate sentence of detention at Her Majesty’s pleasure.

After spending eight years in juvenile detention, Venables and Thompson were released in 2001 with new identities and lifelong licenses, as their safety was a concern.

Venables has faced multiple legal problems in the past. In 2010, he was found guilty of having and sharing inappropriate pictures of children, which led to a two-year jail term.

After being released on parole, he was arrested again in 2017 for similar crimes and was given a 40-month prison sentence in 2018.
