Kaduna Pensioners Receive Health Insurance Coverage

Date:

The Kaduna State Government has introduced a health insurance program for pensioners in the state through a collaboration between the Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Authority and the state chapter of the Nigerian Union of Pensioners.

The goal of the program, as announced by the Commissioner for Health, Umma Ahmed, is to offer pensioners comprehensive and affordable healthcare coverage to alleviate the financial strain of medical costs.

Commending Governor Uba Sani for his dedication to the scheme and the well-being of pensioners, Ahmed emphasized that the partnership aligns with the state’s goal of universal health coverage.

She urged other organizations to follow suit and establish similar collaborations that prioritize the health and welfare of the people.

The program is expected to benefit numerous pensioners by providing access to quality healthcare without the need for out-of-pocket expenses.

“The enrolment process is expected to be seamless, transparent, and accessible to all eligible pensioners.

“The launch of the scheme is a testament to the state government’s commitment to providing quality healthcare to all citizens, particularly the vulnerable and elderly.

“With this initiative, Kaduna State is leading the way in ensuring that healthcare services are accessible and affordable for all,” she said.

Abubakar Hassan, Director General of KADCHMA, announced that the scheme would enable pensioners to receive medical treatment at any public or private healthcare facility within the state, free from the burden of personal financial costs, ensuring comprehensive and accessible healthcare coverage.

”The annual premium for this health insurance scheme is less than N10,600, making it incredibly affordable for our pensioners,” Hassan said.

He added, “This will facilitate access to quality healthcare for our pensioners, in line with the promises of Senator Uba Sani’s administration to provide access to quality care through a state contributory health insurance scheme.”

Hassan expressed his appreciation for the partners’ support and collaboration in making the scheme a success, ultimately providing pensioners with the healthcare services they rightly deserve.

“The launch of the scheme is part of the state government’s efforts to provide access to quality healthcare for all residents,” he highlighted.
