Kaduna residents ignore #October1Fearless protest

Date:

Residents in Kaduna State were just going about their day as usual because no one seemed interested in the #October1Fearless protest.

Even though there was some tension at first, businesses in the city and nearby areas stayed open, including the shops in the Sheikh Abubakar Gumi Central Market.

Some resident marked Independence Day quietly, while others just continued with their regular routines.

A source who kept watch on Tuesday noted that security forces, including the police, civil defence, and Department of State Services, were stationed at key points throughout the state like Narayi High Cost, Barnawa Complex, and Stadium Roundabout as a preventive measure.

The Coalition of Concerned Citizens of Kaduna State chose not to be part of the planned protests and advised people to focus on positive dialogue rather than causing disturbances.

They praised the government for setting up skill training centers and suggested that citizens get involved in local elections for meaningful improvements.

The #October1Fearless protest, arranged by a group of civil society organizations, aimed to tackle important national problems like economic disparity, unfair treatment, and political oppression.

Nevertheless, it seemed that the protest did not attract much attention or support in Kaduna State.
