Some people in Katsina State have chosen not to participate in the current nationwide protests against widespread difficulties and “bad governance” in Nigeria.
Instead, a significant number of residents gathered to conduct special prayers for Allah’s assistance in addressing the enduring economic challenges and insecurity in the state.
This prayer event took place on Tuesday at the Katsina Arabic Teachers College playground, drawing a large attendance from both men and women under tight security.
During the session, the residents implored Almighty Allah to alleviate the persistent economic struggles, hunger, insecurity, and other issues afflicting the nation.
The residents engaged in the ‘Al-Qunut prayer,’ a supplication performed during prayer at a particular moment while standing, often recommended in times of calamity affecting a community.
Similar prayer sessions occurred at the Filin Samji, Filin Yammawa, and Filin Canada football grounds in Katsina.
Muslim participants expressed that they turned to these prayers as a final recourse to combat hunger, insecurity, and other issues affecting the nation.
