A new bill titled ‘Human Organ and Tissue Transplantation Bill’ have been signed into law by the Lagos State Government.
It was disclosed after a brief meeting by the Lagos State Attorney General and the commissioner of justice, Lawal Pedro.
The laws consists of the Human Organ and Tissue Transplantation Bill, the Consumer Protection Law, Lagos Enforcement Training Institute Laws, Victims Assistance, Witness Protection Laws and Fire and Rescue Service Laws.
The Commissioner stated that this development means that Lagos State Government is committed to the state. Also, it shows that they are ready to fight against corrupt practices in the state.
He said, “These Laws have been thoughtfully designed to tackle some of the most pressing issues facing our state while paving the way for a more just, secure and prosperous future for all residents of Lagos.”
He further noted that with the bill, people will be protected and medical measures will be followed accordingly.
Also, the violators of this law will pay a fine of N10 million or serve 10 years imprisonment.
