Nigerian pastor based in United Kingdom, Tobi Adegboyega’s legal representative, Mr Dele Olawanle has denied reports about the British Government trying to deport his client.
Reports have it that there were allegations of £1.87 million fraud by the founder of SPAC Nation, Tobi Adegboyega.
It was because of the alleged crimes that SPAC Nation was shut down by UK Charity Commission.
The report from The Telegraph stated that the court decision was in favour of deporting Tobi Adegboyega but his lawyer, Olawanle noted that it was a misrepresentation of how the immigration laws work.
On X, he posted, “I could not stop laughing when I read that Tobi Adegboyega faces deportation from the United Kingdom… Deportation is for criminals. He is not.”
“I wondered why there is joy in seeing people go down, including so-called pastors. Society has a big problem, as we cannot handle people who are different and want them to go down.”
He further noted that Adegboyega has stayed in UK for over two decades and has made meaningful contributions to the British community.
He stated that Adegboyega has not encountered any criminal record since his stay in UK. He stated that his client was not guilty of the alleged crimes.
