Governor Seyi Makinde appoints Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin as Olubadan of Ibadanland. He gave his consent for Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin to become the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The governor provided his official endorsement in a memorandum dated June 14, 2024, utilizing the powers vested in him by the amended Section 19 (Cap 28) Law of Oyo State 2000.
In a statement issued by Olusegun Olayiwola, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, it was explained that the governor’s approval of the appointment of Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland is the outcome of diligently following a well-defined set of procedures mandated by the existing laws of the state. These procedures are specifically designed to ensure a proper and lawful succession to royal thrones.
Furthermore, the governor expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the newly appointed Olubadan, recognizing the significance of this esteemed position.
The governor also shared his sincere prayers and hopes that the tenure of the new Olubadan will usher in a period of remarkable progress, growth, and development for not only Ibadanland, but also for the entire Oyo State.
