Mike Bamiloye, a prominent Nigerian clergyman, has spoken out against female ministers who leave their husbands alone at home, subjecting them to loneliness while they travel extensively for their ministry work.
On his social media platforms, Mike Bamiloye expressed concern about a trend among some female ministers. He observed that they rarely stay at home with their husbands, instead traveling extensively around the world for ministry work, while their husbands remain alone at home, overseeing the local church.
Mike Bamiloye emphasized that these female ministers often blame their husbands for stifling their visions and callings when, in reality, the husbands are simply expressing concerns about their wives’ frequent absences and neglect of their marital responsibilities. He also pointed out the hypocrisy of these women, who publicly praise their husbands from the pulpit while privately leaving them to suffer loneliness at home.
“They would stand behind the pulpits and podiums introducing their sermons with praise for their husbands: “I bring you greetings from my husband, the owner of my head. The payer of my dowries without whom I would not be here today. He sent his warm greetings ” , even while the man is suffering loneliness at home. Cold or hot the man is alone”.
Mike Bamiloye recently spoke out about pastors’ wives who make their marriages miserable for their husbands. He noted that some of these women take advantage of their husbands’ pastoral calling, believing that as ministers, they cannot divorce or discipline them in the same way a non-pastor might. The clergyman lamented that this has led to a situation where many pastors are trapped in unhappy marriages, feeling forced to endure them rather than seeking a resolution.
