Nandi Nyembe, born on August 19, 1950, is a South African actress recognized for her roles in the sports drama Zone 14 and the television series Soul City.
She was born in Kliptown, Johannesburg, and spent part of her youth in Botswana and East London, South Africa.
Due to the apartheid regime, she often found herself cast as a maid, which led to feelings of frustration and anger that motivated her involvement in protest theatre.

Nyembe is famous for portraying Nandi Sibiya in Zone 14 and has also appeared in Yizo Yizo, Izoso Connexion, Reasonable Man, Saturday Night at the Palace, and Yesterday.
Additionally, she has made guest appearances on various TV shows, including Soul Buddyz, Hillside, Erfsondes, 4Play: Sex Tips for Girls, and The No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency.
