A lawmaker in Nasarawa State, Mohammed Isimbabi, has switched from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Speaker of the House, Danladi Jatau, disclosed Isimbabi’s defection by reading his resignation letter during the legislative session on Monday, August 26.
Jatau mentioned that Isimbabi, representing Toto/Gadabuke Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, switched to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) due to internal divisions within the NNPP.
Jatau praised the lawmaker for his decision to join the ruling APC in the state, describing Isimbabi’s move as positive and beneficial.
He said, “I want to commend him for taking this very serious decision to join APC. His defection to APC is welcome as a leader of the house.”
Jatau also mentioned that Isimbabi’s decision to join the party would be beneficial and advantageous for the party.
