The National Emergency Management Agency has provided assistance to 800 households in Ikara/Kubau Local Government Areas who were recently affected by flood and windstorm incidents.
The relief materials were donated by NEMA and presented by the North-West Zonal Coordinator, Malam Imam Garki, to Mr. Aliyu Abdullahi, the representative of Ikara/Kubau Federal Constituency.
The Federal Government approved the distribution of relief items to the communities of Pambegua and Zuntu in Kubau Local Government Area, which had suffered from severe flooding and windstorms in June, impacting around 4,800 individuals and resulting in four fatalities.
The relief items, comprising both food and non-food supplies such as rice, maize, vegetable oil, clothing, towels, mosquito nets, and roofing materials, were intended to provide support and comfort to the affected families during these difficult times.
Garki, on behalf of NEMA, expressed sympathy for the communities and encouraged the recipients to make use of the aid to alleviate their challenges. It was emphasized that the items were meant for assistance, not as compensation for their losses.
Abdullahi appreciated NEMA’s compassionate actions and prompt response in aiding those affected by the calamities.
