Netizens defends Moses Bliss as he gets called out for charging N7million for a guest ministration

Date:

A Twitter user, Joshua, criticized gospel singer Moses Bliss for allegedly charging N7 million for a performance, sparking a reaction.

However, some social media users have come to the singer’s defense, justifying his fee.

Joshua had suggested that instead of paying Moses Bliss, churches or event organizers should consider inviting secular artist Olamide, implying that he would draw a larger crowd at a potentially lower cost.

“I was told you need N7 million to invite Moses bliss for ministration; they should kuku invite Olamide instead, make he come sing “baba mo ro wo re ninu aye mi…” church go even over full”.

Many people took issue with Joshua’s comment, pushing back against his criticism of Moses Bliss’s fee. They pointed out that the gospel singer has financial obligations and expenses to cover, just like anyone else, and therefore deserves to be fairly compensated for his work.

Below are reactions that trailed the post;

One Danny wrote, “There’s nothing wrong with his charge. He’s singing just like every other singer is doing

One Weight Loss and More wrote, “The gift of a man maketh way for him. Go and hire your local church chorister if you don’t want to spend much

One Urennah_ wrote, “So he should sing for free? How he go take chop and fend for his family lol

One Ojulewa Studio wrote, “Please increase it N7million, it’s small. The brand no get family ni Abi equipment nko? But you want quality sound”.

Relatedly, Reverend Father Chinenye Oluoma, a Catholic priest in Abuja, expressed dismay and criticism last year over reports that gospel singer Mercy Chinwo charges N10 million for a guest appearance.

He lamented that worship has become commercialized, condemning gospel artists who demand exorbitant fees to perform in churches, suggesting that their prioritization of profit over spirituality is misguided.
