Netizens are responding to the report that Koko Zaria, a loyalist of MC Oluomo, has been remanded in prison for allegedly attacking actor Baba Lawori.
It was reported that Yoruba actor Baba Lawori previously sought help after being brutally attacked by an aide of Koko Zaria, recounting how he was lured into a meeting under false pretenses and assaulted after apologizing for not acknowledging Koko Zaria.
The attack occurred while Baba Lawori was working as an MC at an event, where a stranger approached him claiming Koko Zaria wanted to see him, leading to a confrontation and physical assault.
On September 5th, a Lagos Chief Magistrate Court remanded Koko Zaria in prison custody for the assault, despite his denial and not-guilty plea.
Koko Zaria’s lawyers applied for bail, arguing the charge is bailable, and the court granted bail in the sum of N2 million with two sureties, but ordered Koko Zaria to be remanded in the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS) custody until the bail terms are perfected.
Social media users are reacting to the news, with many expressing skepticism that Koko Zaria will actually face prison time due to his connections as a Chieftain of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
