Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has been reappointed as the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Director General for a second term.
In the month of September, 70-year-old Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala announced her aspiration for a second tenure.
Ambassador Petter Ølberg of Norway, Chair of the General Council, announced to WTO members that no other nominations were received before the deadline which was on November 8.
The reports from global trade institution states that the reappointment will take effect on September 1, 2025.

World Trade Organisation (WTO) 166 member countries conducted a consensus which led to the reappointment of Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
