Nigerian female artistes don’t support themselves – Candy Bleakz

Date:

The lack of support for emerging female Nigerian artists by their established female counterparts is a concern expressed by singer Candy Bleakz.

She believes that no female Nigerian artist can claim to have assisted another female artist.

The ‘Wole’ crooner made an appearance on the most recent installment of the podcast called ‘The Honest Bunch’, which is co-hosted by actor Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, also known as Nedu.

She said, “There’s no female artiste in Nigeria right now that you can say has helped bring out another female artiste”.

She also discussed her tomboyish personality and how her mother’s attempts to alter it were unsuccessful.

“I’m a tomboy naturally. I’m not doing it for music promotion. My mum had tried to change me but she couldn’t”.
