In a substantial repatriation initiative, four hundred Nigerian nationals have been expelled from the United Arab Emirates and have returned to Nigeria.
The group of deportees, consisting of 90 women and 310 men, touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
The repatriation operation was coordinated by the Office of the National Security Adviser in conjunction with various key agencies, including the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
The Nigerian Television Authority disclosed that the homecoming was a component of a structured repatriation scheme, emphasizing the contributions of different parties in guaranteeing a seamless procedure.
Previously in July 2024, the Federal Government facilitated the return of 190 Nigerians from the UAE, showcasing a continuous commitment to overseeing and aiding Nigerian citizens encountering legal and immigration issues overseas.
This extensive deportation highlights the persistent international migration and repatriation patterns, alongside the Nigerian government’s sustained dedication to tending to the requirements of its repatriated citizens.
