The Edo State chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Odion Olaye, has issued a severe warning, indicating potential chaos and unrest if the governorship election on September 21 does not result in his favor.
In a viral video, Olaye can be seen threatening that Edo State will face significant turmoil unless his preferred candidate is declared the winner of the gubernatorial election by the electoral commission.
During a campaign event in Egor, Benin City, in support of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo, the NLC chairman expressed his confidence in his candidate’s success.
Olaye confidently predicted that the PDP would secure a substantial victory in Egor City.
He stated, “I want to assure you that PDP, our party, is going to win Egor 80 percent come 21st of this month and on 22nd of this month, they must declare Asue Ighodalo the winner.
“If they refuse to do that, Edo state will burn,” Olaye added in the video.
