Pere Egbi, a finalist and All-Star housemate of Big Brother Naija ‘Shine Ya Eyes’, has shared his thoughts on the ongoing custody dispute between music star Davido and his first baby mama, Sophia Momodu.
He expressed on the micro-blogging platform that it is unfair for any child to be deprived of the opportunity to know, spend time with, and be involved in their father’s life.
He further emphasized that it is not the child’s responsibility if they do not get along with their father, and therefore, they should still have the right to have a relationship with him.
The reality star also observed that some women’s behavior is difficult to comprehend.
“No child should be denied knowing and spending time with and being a part of their father’s life. You ain’t cool with the dad; that’s not the child’s fault. Some women are just unbelievable”.
Remember that after Davido ended his relationship with Sophia and started dating his now wife, Chioma, the two have been in dispute.
Sophia has accused Davido of financially exploiting her and being an absent father.
According to Naija traffic report, few days before Davido’s traditional wedding to Chioma, he filed a lawsuit seeking joint custody of his daughter.
He claimed that Sophia was denying him access to their daughter and extorting money from him.
Davido stated that Sophia rejected his offer to provide her with a house and instead demanded a monthly rent of N5 million for her own house.
In response, Sophia stated that she had a relationship with Davido from 2020 to 2022 while he was still dating Chioma.
She denied Davido’s claims of denying him access to their daughter and revealed that he had never made an effort to meet with their daughter, Imade, and had abandoned her because she refused to have sex with him.
In the latest updates on their custody battle, Sophia filed a 102-paragraph affidavit opposing Davido’s request for joint custody.
She cited reasons such as the death of Davido’s son, Ifeanyi, his controversial lifestyle, and his use of their daughter to retaliate against her as reasons for her opposition.
In response, Davido expressed his frustration with Sophia constantly bringing up the death of their child to remind them of the tragedy they live with every day.
He stated that their daughter would grow up knowing that Sophia fought against him, but he would still give her custody of their daughter.
