Oghenekaro Itene hails from Isoko in Delta State but grew up in the lively town of Benin City, located in Edo State, southern Nigeria.

She earned her degree from the University of Benin and began exploring her passion for the performing arts at a young age.

As the youngest of six siblings, she discovered her love for acting at just eight years old when she joined her elementary school’s drama club.

CAREER

Oghenekaro first captured the audience’s attention with her role as Reverend Sister Onyinye in the 2013 film “Shattered Mirror,” directed by Lancelot Imasuen Oduwa.

Her impressive performance in the film established her as a promising talent to keep an eye on.

After her success in “Shattered Mirror,” Itene transitioned to television, taking on the role of Simi in the acclaimed drama series “Lincoln’s Clan,” produced by Total Recall/Content Africa, which received widespread praise throughout Africa.

Although she initially planned to concentrate on her makeup artistry business, Kadia Makeovers, Itene took a short break from acting.

Yet, her love for the craft called her back, and in 2015, she returned to the screen as a wedding planner in the popular Mnet Africa series “Tinsel.”

Following that, Itene appeared in films, portraying Sonia in the feature “Glass House” from Africa Magic Original Films/Mnet Production and Tessy in “The Prodigal.”

In 2016, she secured a significant role in the acclaimed film “Esohe,” directed by Charles Uwagbai, where she played the character Itohan.

Her performance in “Esohe” received international acclaim, leading to screenings at prestigious events like the Nollywood Travel Festival in Toronto.

The film was well-received and subsequently released in theaters across the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, and Nigeria after a successful tour in the US.
