Olakunle Churchill preaches, reveals what makes a family

Date:

Nigerian entrepreneur Olakunle Churchill has spoken out against the idea that family ties are solely defined by biological relationships, arguing that the concept of family goes beyond just blood relations.

He took to Instagram to share his thoughts on the concept of family, challenging the common notion that “blood makes you family.

He argued that while blood ties may establish a biological connection, it’s loyalty, love, and trust that truly define a family.

Being related by blood alone doesn’t automatically constitute a family,  instead, it’s the presence of these qualities that builds and strengthens unbreakable family bonds.

He emphasized that true family goes beyond just biological relationships, and it’s the emotional and supportive connections that matter most.

He wrote;

“One of the biggest lies ever told is BLOOD makes you FAMILY.

Nope! Blood makes you related.

Loyalty! Love!! Trust!!. Is what makes you FAMILY”.

Being related by blood doesn’t automatically make a family.

True family is built on loyalty, love, and trust.

It’s these qualities that create unbreakable bonds.

TrueFamily LoveAndLoyalty”.

In the comments section, many people agreed with Olakunle Churchill’s statement, sharing their own experiences and observations.

They noted that some family members often use the phrase “blood makes you family” as a way to manipulate and control others, guilt-tripping them into feeling obligated to maintain a relationship despite toxic or harmful dynamics.

These commenters appreciated Churchill’s clarification that family is built on mutual love, trust, and loyalty, rather than just biological ties.

Below are comments trailing his post;

In December, Olakunle Churchill expressed gratitude to the public for their support throughout his career, which began in 2005 and has exceeded his expectations.

He acknowledged the contributions of those who have helped him along the way, celebrating not just his own success but also the collective efforts of his team and supporters.

Previously, he had reflected on the challenges he faced, including scandals and envy from others who sought to bring him down.

However, he remains steadfast in his faith, confident that he is a child of God. He noted that those who have tried to harm him have ultimately remained stagnant or experienced decline, while he continues to thrive.
