Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has initiated a monthly outreach program providing free medical care to Akure residents.
Launched on August 5, 2024, under Chairman Gbenga Fasua’s supervision, the program has already treated 1,000 patients in Akure, as reported by Iteyemi Adegoroye.
The initiative, also overseen by chairmen Taiwo Samson, Sunday Kekereowo, and Ifedayo Ologometa, offers complimentary treatment for various health conditions.
In his remarks, Fasua pointed out , “This complies with an aspect of the various palliative programmes designed by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to assist the less-privileged in this testing period; many who cannot afford the costs of medical treatment.
“It is a continuous exercise as it will be held every month, with the deployment of medical experts to attend to various categories of ailment, at no cost.”
Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration has extended support to vulnerable residents through food distribution and disbursed over N2 billion in soft loans to empower petty traders, farmers, artisans, and young entrepreneurs.
Additionally, the governor has revitalized infrastructure development by mobilizing contractors to return to work and awarding new contracts to provide essential social amenities, as highlighted by Chairman Fasua.
