The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has commented on the character of his ex-wife and former queen, Naomi Silekunola, amid her recent arrest.
It’s worth noting that a tragedy struck in Ibadan two days ago due to a stampede at an event hosted by Queen Naomi.
In collaboration with media figure Oriyomi Hamzat, she planned to provide meals for 5,000 children, each receiving gifts. However, chaos erupted as the crowd overwhelmed the venue.
As a result, Queen Naomi was taken into custody, and further information about her arrest remains unclear.
Regarding the situation, Ooni shared his condolences to the families affected by the incident and expressed his support for Naomi. He praised her character and highlighted her dedication to organizing similar charitable events during her time as queen.

“The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the children who lost their lives in a stampede during the funfair in Ibadan. He also showed solidarity with the ex-queen Naomi by saying she genuinely cared for children and organised similar events at Ile Ife when she was the queen.”
