PDP accuses Tinubu-led govt of fueling its internal conflicts

Date:

According to the PDP’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Abdullahi, the APC-led Federal Government is being blamed for causing conflicts within their party and other opposition groups in Nigeria.

He said, “They are our problem. It is better for President Bola Tinubu and his party, the All Progressives Congress, to focus on their own party and leave the PDP alone.

“All the efforts they are making to weaken the opposition, whether it is the PDP or other opposition parties, to ensure that in 2027 there are no presidential aspirants or candidates from other parties, will amount to nothing.”

He said he trusts that the PDP and other opposition parties can see what the ruling party is trying to do and won’t be easily influenced.

He also warned that the APC’s plans to weaken the opposition before the next election won’t work. He stated that the PDP is smart enough to look beyond Tinubu’s immediate goals.

The PDP has been facing internal issues, especially after disagreements between important figures like former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and current Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

There are fights happening within the PDP’s National Working Committee over leadership and the results of state-level meetings, causing tension.

Some in the PDP think outside influences are making these problems worse, dividing the party as important elections draw near. However, the PDP’s leaders are confident they can overcome these challenges and become stronger as they get ready for the next round of politics as the opposition party.
