PDP Governor appoints new aides

Date:

On Tuesday, the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Gebon Timothy Kataps, released a statement announcing the appointment of 573 additional political aides by Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State.

This brings the total number of special aides in the state to 707. As stated in the announcement, the newly appointed individuals will assume different roles such as Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants, Special Advisers, and Community Special Assistants.

However, similar to the previous 134 appointees, they have not been assigned specific duties at this time.

The decision made by Governor Agbu Kefas, a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), is perceived as a continuation of his ongoing initiatives to improve governance and the delivery of services to the residents of Taraba State.

Nevertheless, a portion of the population has voiced dissatisfaction and raised concerns regarding the appointment of a significant number of political aides.

A party member, who preferred to remain anonymous, disagreed with the governor’s action, finding it unnecessary and unlikely to contribute to the state’s development.

The party member expressed concern about the economic difficulties and did not support the idea of hiring such a large number of political aides.
