The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emerged victorious in all 260 councillorship positions spread across 17 Local Government Areas in Enugu State.
The declaration was made by Christian Ngwu, the chairman of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC), following the elections held on Saturday, September 21.
Ngwu explained that the results were intentionally withheld until Monday, September 23, to allow for thorough examination and verification.
He also emphasized that a meticulous review of the results was conducted to guarantee accuracy and prevent errors.
He stated, “PDP won all 260 ward councillorship positions within the 260 political wards in the state.
“The election was duly conducted and it was most peaceful, fair, free and credible.
The chairman also acknowledged the absence of any instances of violence, highlighting that ENSIEC had maintained equitable conditions for all political parties and candidates throughout the election process.
Ngwu further mentioned that the commission would promptly issue Certificates of Return to all successful candidates.
