Phyna reacts to backlash for hailing Wizkid amid his attacks on Davido

Phyna, the winner of Big Brother Naija’s “Level Up” season, has addressed the criticism she faced for publicly backing Wizkid in his ongoing feud with Davido.

Wizkid has been publicly criticizing Davido for the past 24 hours, with Davido remaining silent. Wizkid expressed disdain for Davido, calling him talentless and “wack,” and made derogatory comments, wishing him ill.

Phyna sparked backlash on her X (formerly Twitter) page when she publicly praised Wizkid, referring to him as her “father,” drawing criticism from many who accused her of seeking attention by inserting herself into trending controversies.

Phyna responded with amusement, reveling in the fact that her tweet had stirred up outrage and annoyance among many.

Phyna jokingly demanded payment for providing a mental escape from Nigeria’s pressing issues, observing that her tweets had successfully diverted the public’s attention away from the country’s problems.

“At least everybody mind don comot for our problems for Nigeria small. Una suppose Dey pay for this mental distraction from national predicaments wey I Dey do for una once. Anyways, una goodnight I get shoot for morning”.

Phyna’s loyalty shifted away from Davido after he publicly disassociated himself from her and even endorsed a tweet disparaging her fans, labeling them “useless”, which apparently hurt and alienated her.

Phyna responded to Davido’s perceived slight by expressing confusion and hurt, asking what she had done to deserve his endorsement of a disparaging tweet, but ultimately choosing to view the incident as divine motivation to push herself even harder, trusting that God knows her true character.

Phyna found solace in an old video that surfaced online, showing Davido venting about being disrespected by a US show promoter, and she reposted a screenshot of Dammy Krane highlighting the hypocrisy, noting that Davido had once complained about being unrecognized, yet denied knowing Phyna.
