Phyna, the winner of Big Brother Naija ‘Level Up’, has publicly declared her support for Very Dark Man, a social media activist, amidst his controversies with Falz, Bobrisky, and the EFCC.
She took it a step further by nominating him to run for President of the Youth Democratic Party (YDP), expressing her unwavering confidence in him to bring about a better Nigeria .
It’s worth noting that Very Dark Man has been involved in various high-profile feuds, including with celebrities like Obi Cubana and Nkechi Blessing.
Despite this, he has gained a significant following and support from some quarters for his bold and unapologetic approach to addressing social issues.
A Twitter user’s derogatory comment about Phyna and Very Dark Man, labeling them “two fools from Edo State,” sparked a fiery response from Phyna.
She retaliated by unleashing a harsh ethnic slur, referring to the critic as an “Igbo goat” who consumed his ancestors.
“See this Igbo goat that ate his ancestors”.
Phyna clarified her support for Very Dark Man, emphasizing that it’s not about taking sides between him and Bobrisky, but rather about fighting corruption and creating a better Nigeria.
Moreso, Veteran actress Rita Edochie expressed her unwavering support for Very Dark Man, describing him as a “well-meaning activist” and commending his dedication to fighting for justice.
She offered her blessings, praying for his continued growth and success. Edochie assured him of her genuine backing, stating that God and the world at large appreciate and recognize his efforts, promising her steadfast support. Her endorsement, alongside Phyna’s, highlights the growing recognition of Very Dark Man’s activism and its impact.
BBNaija’s Vee Iye questioned the judgment of Very Dark Man’s supporters, suggesting they might benefit from mental evaluation. She stressed collective responsibility in advocating for Nigerians’ rights, arguing against relying solely on individual “freedom fighters.” Iye emphasized accountability and shared responsibility for driving positive change.
In recent times, Very Dark Man (VDM) sparked controversy after releasing an audio recording of Bobrisky alleging that EFCC officers accepted N15 million to drop money laundering charges. Bobrisky claimed a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and his son facilitated the bribe, ensuring the charges were dropped and he avoided prison.
Very Dark Man accused rapper Falz and his father, human rights lawyer Femi Falana, of being involved in Bobrisky’s alleged bribery scandal with the EFCC. However, Falz and Femi Falana’s team vehemently denied the allegations, threatening legal action unless Very Dark Man issues a public apology.
