The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has given the green light for the introduction of a new standard uniform and gear for Supernumerary Police officers, often known as Spy Police. The official unveiling of the new uniform and equipment happened in Abuja on Tuesday.
Representing IGP Egbetokun was Deputy Inspector General of Police for Finance and Administration, DIG Bala Ciroma. Ciroma mentioned that the updated uniforms are part of a larger plan to enhance the operations of Spy Police officers nationwide.
Egbetokun stated that the new uniforms are designed to prevent the inappropriate use of regular police attire and ensure that Spy Police officers present themselves in a professional manner that sets them apart from regular police officers.
He noted, “The new uniforms will prevent confusion and ensure that our Supernumerary Police officers stand out with a unique, professional image.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) has instructed all Police Training Schools nationwide to adopt the new method of providing uniforms for Spy Police officers.
