Super Eagles striker Kayode Olanrewaju has taken legal action against Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, a popular UK clergyman, by filing a lawsuit worth N1 billion.
This comes after previous reports that the married clergyman was accused of having a sexual relationship with Kayode’s wife.
It was alleged that the footballer’s wife was introduced to Pastor Tobi through someone associated with media personality Daddy Freeze.
In an update to the situation, Kayode has filed for divorce from his wife and has also brought the clergyman to court.
In his court documents, he has requested that a Federal Capital Territory High Court dissolve his marriage, citing irretrievable breakdown, and is also seeking custody of their three children.
The footballer, who currently plays for Turkish Genclerbirligi, has asked the court to order UK-based pastor Tobi Adegboyega to pay him N1 billion in damages for the harm caused to his reputation due to the alleged adulterous affair with Ezinne.
The estranged couple has been involved in a bitter marital dispute, with allegations of infidelity and other issues being raised.
Earlier this year, Ezinne took legal action against her husband, accusing him of baseless allegations of infidelity and witchcraft, and claiming that he damaged her phone in the process.
However, in a counter-petition, Kayode accused Ezinne of repeatedly cheating on him with the UK-based pastor and other men since they got married in 2013.
The professional football player also claimed that his estranged wife took their children without his permission, but they were later rescued by the Department of State Services personnel.
The footballer also alleged that his wife’s relationship with Adegboyega was not kept secret, as they were seen together at parties and showing affection in public.
He also stated that his wife has had similar relationships with other men, which has made it impossible for him to continue living with her as her husband.
As expected, this news has raised doubts about the authenticity of the pastor’s title.
