Released protesters denies the rumours of torture during detention

The released August 2024 #EndBadGovernance protesters in Kaduna denied the allegations of torture during their detention by the Department of State Services (DSS).

During their statements to the journalists, they clarified that they were treated fairly during their detention at the DSS office in Kaduna. They were released after their case was reviewed by the new DSS Director General.

Dahiru Hamza, popularly known as DJ Zariya from Tudun Wada, Kaduna, stated, “I was arrested on August 8, 2024. We were detained but were neither tortured nor starved. We were released without any bail payment, and the Director General instructed us to retrieve our sound systems.”

Hamza noted that he had been deceived by the protest organisers who told him that they had received clearance from security agencies. He encouraged government to create job opportunities for Nigerian youths.

Isa Abdullahi, also known as DJ SP stated that he was not maltreated and he was allowed to contact his wife from time to time.

The released protesters expressed gratitude to the government and also urged them to create solutions to the problem of the country.
