The House of Representatives will reconvene from its yearly break on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, which is a week later than their original schedule.
The delayed restart date was communicated through an internal memorandum issued by the House Clerk, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, on Wednesday.
Following their departure on July 23, 2024, legislators were set to return on September 17. Throughout the recess period, House members participated in community initiatives within their electoral districts, tackled important matters, and supervised government entities.

Upon their return, the House leadership will officially establish the new panel for the Public Complaints Commission and the Joint Senate/House Ad Hoc Committees investigating the Petroleum Industry on September 25.
Additional information will be disclosed during the plenary session on the resumption day.
The statement added, “As the 10th Assembly resumes, it will continue to drive its legislative agenda, focusing on impactful reforms aimed at national development and fulfilling its mandate to the Nigerian people.”
