On Tuesday, the Nigerian Senate declared the postponement of the screening of seven ministerial nominees that was appointed by President Bola Tinubu.
The seven ministerial nominees include; Muhammadu Dingyadi (Labour & Employment), Jumoke Oduwole (Industry, Trade and Investment), Nentawe Yilwatda (Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction), and Bianca Ojukwu (a state foreign affairs).
Others are Yusuf Ata (State, Housing and Urban Development), Idi Mukhtar Maiha (Livestock Development), and Suwaiba Ahmad (State Education).
In a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, Senator Basheer Lado stated that it was necessary that the screening was postponed.
It will aid the nominees to complete their documentation. It was shifted to Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 12noon prompt.
The title of the statement released is “Postponement of ministerial screening”.
It reads: “The scheduled screening of Ministerial Nominees has been postponed by the Senate.
“This is to allow all nominees to conclude all aspects of documentation and pre-screening exercises.”
