Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe of Abia South has condemned President Tinubu’s recent cabinet reshuffle noting that it shows downfall from progress. He described it as ‘renewed shege’.
This statement was a result of President Tinubu’s reshuffle of Ministers after the dismissal of five others.
Recall that the former Minister of Women Affairs, Uju-Ken Ohanenye was dismissed by President Tinubu and Bianca Ojukwu stepped in as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
Abaribe told Arise TV, “They don’t refer to it as ‘Renewed Hope’ but rather as ‘Renewed Shege.”
He condemned President Tinubu’s actions of breaching the Federal character principle, which requires the people to be represented across Nigeria’s regions.
He stated, “The president has breached it for the last 18 months.”
“We thought these changes would ease the concerns of people from the South East.”
Abaribe lamented, “Treat us as you are treating everybody else.” He emphasized on the significance of fairness and equity as the Southeast desire.
