Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has recently voiced his strong disapproval regarding the premature leak of his father’s upcoming speech online.
The speech, meticulously crafted to tackle the prevailing protests against the government’s administration, was originally intended for a live broadcast but was released early online.
Seyi Tinubu expressed his frustration on social media, stating that globally, it is common practice to provide the media with an embargoed copy of a president’s speech before a live broadcast.
Despite this, he accused a media member of breaching journalistic ethics and professionalism by leaking the speech prematurely.
Seyi Tinubu mentioned on his Instagram story, “It is standard global practice anywhere in the world to provide an embargoed copy of a President’s address to the media prior to him going live.
“Someone in the media (outside the villa) broke the code of journalistic ethics and professionalism by releasing it before the actual address was delivered,” he added.
