Shehu Sani, a former senator who represented Kaduna Central, has provided a clue on the reason for tension at Emir of Kano’s palace.
In his social media handle, he wrote, “In the interest of peace, there should be serious restraint in the application of force, might, and power over the Kano emirship tussle.”
It was in the early hours of Friday that police officers surrounded the palace around 6:00am.
Reports have it that it may be linked to the intention of Emir Muhammadu Sanusi to appoint a district head for Bichi town.
This is not the first time Kano emirship is causing controversy.
Recall, in month of May, Aminu Ado Bayero, the former Emir of Kano was dethroned Governor Abba Yusuf and was replaced immediately with the 16th Emir, Muhammadu Sanusi II who moved over to Kofar Kudu palace.
