The seat of the deputy governor of Edo State, Dennis Idahosa has officially been announced vacant.
On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, it was declared by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas.
While representing Ovia Federal constituency in the House, he was elected as the deputy governor of Edo State alongside the governor Monday Okpebholo. On November 12, they were sworn into office.
In the letter, the House leader, Julius Ihonvbere called for the declaration of the vacant position.
He urged the House of Representatives to start with the process of replacing the lawmaker who is now a deputy governor in the state.
The number of the vacant seats in the House of Assembly have increased to four.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) plans to conduct a fresh election to replace the vacant positions.
