Senator Gabriel Suswam, former Benue State Governor, has requested for the removal of Umar Damagum, the Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), highlighting his poor performance in leadership.
During the meeting of the PDP in Makurdi, Suswam expressed deep concerns about Damagum’s leadership.
Suswam stated, “Damagum must go, whether they like it or not.”
He further noted that Damagum has changed the party into a “business venture” and should not be considered to rule the party.
He mentioned that the conspiracies within the party’s national leadership and how it is detrimental to the party. He further claimed that there was a manipulation during the local government and state congresses in Benue State.
“The process was a sham, and it will not stand,” Suswam stated. He vowed to seek for alternative measures to rectify the issues.
The Benue State Chairman of the PDP, Mr Christian Adaba Abah, appreciated the party members for their support and also encouraged them to be diligent in their work.
The other leaders such as, Udu Nyitse, Cletus Upaa, John Ngbede, and Hyacinth Inyakuma expressed optimism about the PDP and its prospects in the 2027 elections.
