“There is a lot of suffering” – Yoruba Council of Elders

Date:

The Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE) is worried about the tough times Nigerians are going through and wants President Bola Tinubu to do something about it.

Oladipo Oyewole, the General Secretary of the YCE, emphasized the immediate need for government intervention to ease the widespread challenges people are facing in their daily lives.

The statement read, “The YCE remains hopeful that Nigeria will experience a turnaround. However, based on the limited information available about government activities, there is currently a significant level of suffering among the populace.”

Oyewole highlighted the key problems causing difficulties, such as the unreliable electricity supply and the recent rise in fuel prices. He emphasized that these issues have made life even harder for regular Nigerians, increasing their daily struggles.

“The Federal Government should immediately explore all avenues to ensure that the benefits of democracy reach the people effectively.

Oyewole added, “This should not be through superficial palliatives but by implementing measures that enhance proper and quality living through effective governance.”

“The President should urgently revisit his strategies to address the immediate needs of Nigerians while continuing to work towards long-term improvements.”

The YCE demanded quick steps to improve the well-being of the people, aiming for a situation where all citizens can live comfortably and peacefully.

The group criticized the current governance, labeling it a tough situation for the country. They called on President Tinubu’s government to promptly address and reduce the hardships faced by the population.
