Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the President’s wife, has donated N500 million to flood victims in Maiduguri, Borno.
She made the announcement during a sympathy visit to Governor Babagana Zulum on Wednesday, represented by Nana Kashim Shettima, the Vice President’s wife.
Tinubu praised the state government for its commitment and pledged ongoing support from the Renewed Hope Initiative for youth and women.
Accompanied by other governors’ wives, ministers, and female National Assembly members, she emphasized the initiative’s positive impact.
Zulum expressed gratitude for the donation, noting that the RHI program has empowered many women and vulnerable individuals in the state.
President Tinubu traveled to Maiduguri on Monday to stand in solidarity with the state’s residents following the devastating disaster.
A delegation was warmly received at the Government House by Governor Zulum, Borno State National Assembly members, the Speaker of the state assembly, and other state executive council members.
Nana Shettima, representing the First Lady, praised Governor Zulum’s tireless efforts in governance and expressed condolences to the state government and people affected by the disaster.
She then presented a donation of N500 million to support the victims on behalf of the First Lady .
