The police caught a man named Bashir Hadejia who said he gave money to many young people who took part in the recent #EndBadGovernance Protests in the north.
He also admitted to supporting the attack on the Jigawa state APC office.
Hadejia was arrested by the police because they heard he was smuggling a lot of weapons and a bunch of gold bars that might have been stolen from the Central Bank of Libya.
He is said to be skilled in money laundering and various international crimes. Over the past weekend, he was arrested for treason, engaging in activities against the government, and other crimes that cross borders.
Hadejia was additionally charged with supporting terrorism and other illegal activities in certain northern states, along with the individuals backing him.
Furthermore, the suspect was discovered with documents suggesting impersonation, such as tracking records of important figures and a Vanuatu Republic passport set to expire on September 14, 2030.
In the course of the inquiry, a video emerged showing the suspect presenting gold bars, bearing Gaddafi’s image, weighing a ton, suspected to have been taken from the Libyan Central Bank.
The suspect is reportedly beginning to reveal the identities of his supposed backers and associates, which include a past director of the Department of State Security Service (DSS).
